3rd Avenue W Closed to Traffic at McConkey Park January 7 and 8 for Sewer Repair Work

Because of emergency sewer repair work, the section of roadway on 3rd Avenue W, at
the intersection of 2nd Avenue W and Newcastle Trail, will be closed to traffic on January 7
and 8, 2021. The closure will be between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm for these two
days. Steel plates will be placed over the excavation at night and the street reopened to
traffic between the hours of 5 pm to 8 am.
For westbound traffic along 2nd and 3rd Avenue, there will be a detour at 8th Street W
that will direct traffic down the alley (4th Avenue W) and around the construction. For
eastbound traffic, there will be a detour at Ploeg Street directing traffic onto Highway
575. There will be no parking on the street in this area while the road is closed to traffic.
Work is expected to be complete by Friday, January 8 in the afternoon and the road
completely reopened to traffic.
