Aquaplex Closure Update

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

November 5th 2018

The Town of Drumheller is working hard with contractors to fix the leak in the pool and get it open for the public as soon as possible. The pool is now drained and the contractors are determining the best long term solution.

As outlined in our earlier release, one of the drain structures at the deep end of the pool has a wide split on the side, which water was leaking through.

"We appreciate this causes a huge inconvenience to all our users and we offer them our sincere apologies," said Darryl Drohomerski CAO of the Town of Drumheller. "Everyone involved in the pool is disappointed and frustrated, but we are working hard to find the best solution to the problem so that we can re-open the pool for our users."

"As we did with the modernization project, we will be extending Aquaplex memberships for the length of the closure, once we know how long that be," added Darren Goldthorpe Manager of Recreation, Arts and Culture.

We will provide further updates as they come available.
