Aquaplex Closure Update

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

November 13, 2018

The Town of Drumheller is continuing their hard work with contractors to fix the leak in the pool in hopes of opening the Aquaplex doors as soon as possible. The pool is still drained while the contractors search for a company that can fill the void with a slurry mixture.

As outlined in an earlier release, one of the drain structures at the deep end of the pool has a wide split on the side, which water was leaking through.

"We have a contractor coming later this week to make plans for repairs and that we are hoping these are done as soon as possible," said Darryl Drohomerski CAO of the Town of Drumheller. "After the repairs are completed, it will still take about 10 days to fill and heat the pool and have the water tested."

"As we did with the modernization project, we will be extending Aquaplex memberships for the length of the closure, once we know how long that be," added Darren Goldthorpe Manager of Recreation, Arts and Culture.

We will continue to provide further updates as they come available.
