Rotary Park Fountain Update

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 24th 2018

The Town of Drumheller is making progress on repairing the Rotary Spray Park fountain. Advantage Reline has been awarded the tender to carry out the repair work on some of the water supply and return pipes for the fountain. The repair work is likely to involve excavation, pipe lining and plumbing, followed by the standard procedures for water quality testing and obtaining the approval from Alberta Health Services.

"This is a complicated project and it has taken a while to get the correct skills and equipment needed to complete the repairs." explained Armia Mikhaiel Director of Infrastructure Services. "We thank the public for their patience and look forward to having the fountain available for everyone to enjoy."

"This project is to repair the pipes and stop the large loss of water which was taking place," added Julia Fielding Communications Officer for the Town of Drumheller."
The anticipated start date for this project is July 31, 2018 and it is hoped to be completed by August 10, 2018."

Once the repairs are completed and water quality approval is granted, the fountain will be reopened to the public.
