Working towards a better Drumheller

 On Monday April 15th Council approved the 2019 capital budget. The approved budget includes new initiatives to move Drumheller forward as well as important equipment and infrastructure projects.

The 2019 Capital Budget includes expenditures totaling $21,452,020. These expenses include $12,098,120 in funded projects carried forward from 2018, including two previously funded Flood Mitigation Projects.

There are a number of projects which have been requested for Provincial grant funding, however, these will only take place if grants are received. These projects include;

$1,600,000 for the bridge 11 replacement on Highway 10X

$1,500, 000 for the replacement of the Nacmine force main

These funds come from the following areas:

Reserves: $4,569,400

Grant funding: $12,366,420

Debt: $1,758,400

Mayor Heather Colberg said "this Capital budget includes vital infrastructure projects and other new exciting items such as a new town app and equipment for the new plaza. All of these are fundamental elements to taking our town forward, and we are excited to get them started."
