Badlands Community Facility - COVID-19 Update

Tuesday, March 17, 2020

Earlier today, Premier Kenney declared at State of Medical Emergency for the Province of Alberta. As part of that declaration, all public facilities and all public events will be closed until further notice. This affects the Royal Tyrrell Museum, Badlands Community Facility, Aquaplex, Arena, bingo events and weddings. We understand some of you may have questions on how this will affect your membership.

All Memberships will be paused effective immediately, and will be extended for the duration of this closure. We appreciate your patience as we continually adapt to changing circumstances.

Currently, we are still open and operational with restrictions:

- Facility capacity will be capped at 50 persons. This includes fitness users, meeting spaces, lobby and staff
- Effective immediately, Instructor-led drop-in classes are postponed
- Effective immediately, all Registered Programs will be postponed and participants are currently being contacted
- Drop-in sports are still available, limited equipment to be provided

We are actively taking preventative measures in our facilities:

- Events more than 50 persons will be postponed
- BCF Staff as well as an on-site contracted cleaner sanitising high traffic areas throughout the entire facility throughout the day
- BCF Staff are actively using 'social distancing' at the front desk, office spaces and meetings
- Duplicates of fitness accessories are being removed from fitness studio for the time being
- We are asking that all users, members, and guests wipe down the equipment before and after use
