Position Summary:  Reporting to the Supervisor of Aquatic Operations and Recreation Programs, all staff are responsible for providing a safe, clean, professional and friendly environment to ensure that pool patrons have a positive aquatic experience.  Staff paid training in return for a long term commitment to the organization.  Further involvement in facility scheduling, programming, pool operations and maintenance are coordinated in collaboration with other town departments.
 
Employment Category:  Casual Lifeguards and/or Instructors
 
Hours per Week: Up to 37.5 - 40 hrs/week. Shift work includes morning, days, evenings and weekends – conforming to the Town Policy and CUPE 4604 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
 
Pay Scale:  $18.78 - $21.81 per hour
 
Education and Experience:  Depending on the level of experience, all applicants must have their National Lifeguard or Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate &/or Water Safety Instructor or Lifesaving Instructor; Standard First Aid and Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross.  Candidates with excellent communication and positive interpersonal skills; time management and computer skills and knowledge of aquatics programming principles are encouraged to apply.  An effective customer approach and the ability to work in a fast paced environment are essential.

Position Summary:  This position is responsible for supervising staff, assisting with maintenance and operations of the Aquaplex, including maintaining Water Quality, Lifeguarding, Janitorial duties, Public Relations, daily cash balancing and deposits, ensuring all rules and regulations regarding safety are complied with, assisting with program development.
The ideal candidate combines a strong background in Aquatics programming and administration with a fun approach that focuses on the safety and enjoyment of all of our clients. 
 
Employment Category:   Permanent, Full Time  (Two positions available)
 
Hours Per Week:   37.5 - 44 hrs./week. Shift work includes nights and weekends – based on a compressed work week, and conforming to the Town Policy and CUPE 4604 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
 
Pay Scale:  Shift Supervisor l – $22.68 - $26.62
 
Benefits:  As per the Town’s HR Policy and CUPE 4604 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
 
Education and Experience:  Bondable, Completion of grade 12 or equivalent must possess a current Standard First Aid/Aquatic Emergency Care and National Lifeguard. Must be 18 years of age or older.
