Metering and Billing

In issues big and small, we hope to help you in any way that we can.

Confused about your water meter? Can’t get around to really understanding how your bill works?

This section explains metering and billing.

These are two essential components of our water services and it would be our pleasure to make sure that everything is clear to you.

A utility billing does not refer to the billing or due date; instead, it refers to the consumption or service month.

Water is a service that has to be billed after it is used, which creates some customer confusion as to the date reference of the utility invoice.

As a general rule, water meters are read at the end of the month.

The billing is calculated and mailed about the 10th of the following month.

Lastly, payment is due on the 5th of the month that follows that.

For example, January’s water usage is calculated by reading the water meter at the end of January, billing and mailing the invoice on February 10th, and being due on March 5th.

The sewer portion is calculated using 80% of your water consumption.

For accounts where there is no water service, the billing is a flat rate per month.
